First Sighting

3rd June 2012 at 6.15am.

  • 17th June 2012 at 6.20am. Arrived at Ibba Wala. N 8.395417, E 80.056267
Both IWMC 1 & IWFC 1 were resting under a bush in the center of the Wala close to each other. They were alerted by the "kreeeees, kreees" alarm call of a Toque Monkey coming from a tree to the right hand side of the Wala beyond the bund and hurriedly trotted into the forest. (With guide Saranga)
  • 4th June 2012 at 6.30am. Arrived at Ibba Wala. N 8.395417, E 80.056267
Both IWMC 1 & IWFC 1 are at the same location where they were seen yesterday. Photographed both the leopards well. IWFC 1 moved out of sight with the arrival of a second vehicle. IWMC 1 was quite relaxed (as it was yesterday) and was on the earth mound for about 40 minutes. (With guide Saranga)

  • 3rd June 2012 at 6.15am. I arrived at Ibba Wala. N 8.395417, E 80.056267
IWMC 1 & IWFC 1 were lying together on a small earth mound about 25 feet from the ground on the Ibba Wala side. IWFC 1 moved into the jungle upon the arrival of the vehicle. This is my first sighting of IWFC 1. IWMC 1 was quite relaxed. I photographed it well. (With Rajeev Jayawardena and guide Saranga)
