This is a woody strangling shrub that is found in the low country dry zone forested areas. It is also found in India.
The conservation status of this species is regarded as “Endangered” (National Red List 2012).
As with other species of this genus the flowers produce a very pleasant fragrance.
In Wilpattu this woody twiner can be observed on bushes and small trees. I have observed flowers of this species during the months of November and December.
