Goonatilake, W.L.D.P.T.S. de A. (2006) states that ruined stupas were found at this site.

This location can be reached by taking the road from Maradanmaduwa to Ikirigollawa Tank. Kimbula Ketu Gala is about 4 kilometers from Maradanmaduwa.
I visited this site in January 2014 and photographed the rock pool at the site. Brick fragments and tiles were seen in the forest below the rock. It is believed that there is an ancient carving of a crocodile on this rock and that there are four-seated statutes of the Buddha in the forest facing the rock pool. However despite searching for the same I was not able find the carving or any remains of the statutes.

I was not able to find details during my literature survey about the history of this locality.
