This is a species in the soursop family and is found in South India and Sri Lanka. It is a woody slender climbing shrub.
The conservation status of this species is regarded as Least Concerned.

These shrubs are found in the dry and wet lowland forested areas. The beautiful Tailed Jay butterfly that lays its eggs on Annonaceae species lays their eggs on this species as well.
This species can be seen mostly in sandy areas of Wilpattu National park. I have observed the flowers during the months of November and December.
