This is considered a species that is yet to be described. The plants in this genus are found throughout the world and are commonly referred to as Nightshades or Horse nettles.
As stated in the National red list 2012, nine species of Solanums are recorded from the country. They include the popularly known herbs and vegetables such as Wel- thibbatu Solanum trilobatum, Katuwel Batu Solanum virginianum, Thibbatu Solanum torvum.
I photographed this species for the first time at Borupan Wila in January 2014 and at Karambakulama in October 2014.
